Prestige powers NEW
Prestiging used to be worth a multiplier and a rank. Now every prestige also unlocks an active ability, and some of them make you earn the right first.
Abilities
Open /abilities and click one. Each has its own cooldown, and they are unlocked
permanently - once you reach the prestige, the ability is yours for good.
| Ability | Prestige | Cooldown | Size | What it does |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Surge | 1 | 5m | 20s | Haste and speed for a short burst. |
| Meteor Strike | 2 | 10m | radius 4 | Shatters a sphere of the mine around you. |
| Black Hole | 4 | 8m | 12 blocks | Drags every loose item and every monster nearby to you. |
Meteor Strike only works inside a mine
It shatters a sphere of blocks around you and delivers everything it breaks straight to your inventory, exactly as if you had mined it by hand - Fortune and Silk Touch included. Cast it anywhere else and nothing happens, and it costs you no cooldown, so you lose nothing by trying.
It also stops dead at a mine's wall. A meteor at the edge of a zone will not open a hole into a zone you have not unlocked.
Black Hole pulls monsters too
Every loose item near you comes flying in, which is the obvious use. The interesting one is that every hostile mob in range comes with it - a crowd that was chasing you ends up standing in a pile in front of you.
Trials
Some prestiges are guarded. Before you can take one, you have to pass its trial - a timed
challenge you start yourself from /abilities.
| Before prestige | Trial | Challenge | Time limit |
|---|---|---|---|
| 3 | The Miner | Break 1,500 blocks in 10 minutes. | 10 min |
| 5 | The Survivor | Stay alive for 5 minutes. | 5 min |
- A pass is permanent. Beat a trial once and that prestige stays open to you forever, through restarts and relogs.
- Failing costs nothing. Run out of time, or die during The Survivor, and you can start again straight away. There is no cooldown and no penalty.
- Logging out ends the attempt. A trial is a single sitting - disconnecting part-way through cancels the run rather than pausing it.
- Trials give no reward. Passing one buys exactly one thing: the right to prestige.
Where to see it
/abilities shows your abilities, what is still locked, live cooldowns, and the
trial standing in front of your next prestige with its progress bar. If /prestige
refuses because of a trial, it will point you here.
